The next-generation gaming line-ups for both Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One are so-so at best, with only a handful of exciting first party titles between them and the launches otherwise being buoyed by third-party, cross-platform titles. But that's set to change in the months to follow -- Sony have just announced the PS4's first truly desirable game, Uncharted 4.
Arguably Sony's most important exclusive franchise (and certainly one of the most critically acclaimed) the Indiana Jones-like japes of Nathan Drake and co will be making their way to Sony's next-gen machine at an as-yet-undisclosed date. Given the production lengths for previous games in the series, we'd be surprised if it was anytime before 2015, to be honest. Still! An exciting one to put on the wish-list for PlayStation 4 owners.
And, from the reception given to Sony's first batch of PS4 launch titles, Sony will need to have more games like Uncharted 4 sitting over the horizon. Failing to capture the imagination of the gaming press, SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has admitted to being disappointed by the lukewarm response to the launch line up.
