You Can Now Ride a Gondola Down The Canals of Venice in Google Maps' Street View

From the Piazza San Marco to the 409 bridges spanning its 150 canals, Venice is now available to be explored through Google Maps' Street View option in all its romantic, watery glory.

With Venice's narrow cobbled alleys too tight a squeeze for the trusty Street View car, much of the mapping was conducted on foot, using Google's backpack-mounted Trekker 360-degree camera. Get a look behind the scenes of the mapping process in the short clip above. [Google]
