Five "new" HD channels from the BBC are scheduled to appear tomorrow, when BBC Three HD, BBC Four HD, BBC News HD, CBeebies HD and CBBC HD go live. Same stuff, but now with a minimum guaranteed number of pixels.
Once your HD box has been retuned, the new channels will be added to the EPGs of anyone using a Freeview HD, Freesat HD, YouView, Sky HD or Virgin Media tuner. The BBC says over 50 per cent of UK homes can already access HD content on their TVs, which the Beeb expects to rise to 80 per cent by 2016 and 90 per cent by 2019. [BBC]
