It's surprising that it took this long really; crystal meth, coloured the same sky blue shade as the fictional kind that made Breaking Bad's Walter White a millionaire, has burst forth from the TV show and onto the real-world streets of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dealers in the district are adding a blue tint to their wares, according to Kevin Abar, the agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New Mexico. However, unlike the drug in the hit TV show, the real-world version is far less potent, and far more dangerous, making users ill thanks to the chemicals it is cut with in order to achieve the blue hue.
Mr Abar said: “We're concerned that individuals may find it sexy and want to try it and utilise the drug and it's very addictive.”
If you're looking for a Breaking Bad fancy dress prop, and don't want to get chased down by sniffer dogs, Firebox has a far safer option in the shape of bags of "Bathing Bad" sky blue bath salts. Yeah, don't go snorting them either. [Independent]
