Cancer Research's Web "Do" Button Swaps Slacktivist "Likes" for Action

By Gerald Lynch on at

It's all very well giving a Facebook "Like" to a web charity, but it doesn't really do much to directly help people. Looking to change the attitudes of so-called "Slacktivists" Cancer Research is pushing a social "Do" button out onto the web, encouraging a call-to-arms in the fight against cancer.

Web masters will be able to install the button alongside their standard social modules, with the button offering the clicker a challenge that will actively help the cause. Everything from a simple donation to a quirky Cancer Research-promoting selfie may be suggested, and all challenges will be able to be shared among friends, spreading the pro-active good-will wider. Great stuff. Find more info at the source. [Cancer Research]
