This Year's Razzie Nominations Make Grim Reading For Adam Sandler

By Gerald Lynch on at

Despite his crimes against cinema, you've got to feel for Adam Sandler at the moment -- just weeks after being called out as Hollywood's most overpaid actor, his "comedy" sequel Grown Ups 2 now leads the nominations at this year's Razzies -- celebrating the worst movies of the year.

Despite performing relatively well at the box office (taking $247/£150 million), Grown Ups 2 has bagged eight nominations -- including "worst male in a lead role" for Sandler.

Sandler is no stranger to the Razzies either, coming home with the worst actor title last year for his part in That's My Boy, and claiming the same dubious honour the year before for Jack and Jill -- as well as the worst actress title thanks to the gender-bending nature of his role.

Other films facing a slating from the Razzie judges are mega-flops The Lone Ranger and After Earth, as well as star-studded non-comedy Movie 43. [BBC]
