Bad CG Recreations of Pop Culture are Horribly Awesome

By Jordan Kushins on at

Jurassic Park blew my mind when I saw it at the cinema almost 20 years ago, but special effects have come a long way since then. It takes a lot to wow a modern audience. We're jaded. We've seen it all: until now.

I don't know much about the brilliantly unhinged folks at Really3D, other than their site promises "The best 3D animations of the world!" I'll let you be the judge of that.

They've applied their art to today's headline-grabbers:

Tragic historical events:

Classic Mickey:

And managed a new perspective on this fiasco from the MTV Awards that was infinitely more entertaining than the original.

It's not the first time we've seen adorably strange takes on familiar characters and current events. Will it ever get old? Yes, probably! But for now I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to Cartoon Brew for introducing this pure, uncut joy into my life today. [Cartoon Brew]
