Motorola's come out with a rather ballsy claim about its future smartwatch, claiming the current examples of the format are "extremely ugly" and that it's working on building one that's more of of a "style item" than the clunkers built by Samsung, Sony and the rest.
Motorola product management SVP Rick Osterloh said the watch will be announced in the next few months, so it was obviously well into development while Motorola was owned by Google and before Lenovo stepped in with the money.
Over on the company's Twitter account a little more was given away about its watch plan, with a Moto social media spokesbot authorised to say: "We are working on a watch that will be available this year. We aim to address consumer issues like style & battery life." [Techradar]
