We got in a right huff over the horse meat scandal, but it's nothing compared to what was being served up in one Nigerian eatery, a seemingly perfect meeting spot for the world's zombie population.
Local authorities were tipped off about dodgy dealings at a hotel restaurant near Ose-Okwodu market in Anambra state. Upon inspection of the property, police found plenty of contraband, including two AK-47 rifles, army caps, live ammunition and a large number of mobile phones. Oh, and two human heads wrapped in cellophane bags.
The raid seems to confirm local concerns that human meat was being served up at inflated prices at the establishment. A local pastor who had dined at the restaurant said:
I was told that a lump of meat was being sold at N700, I was surprised. So I did not know it was human meat that I ate at such expensive price. What is this country turning into? Can you imagine people selling human flesh as meat. Seriously I’m beginning to fear people in this part of the world [sic].
The man of the cloth also noted that "dirty people with dirty characters" frequented the hotel. So on top of the human flesh, he's got salmonella and hygiene standards to worry about too. [Osun Defender via Metro]
