Season four of swords, boobs and dragons epic Game of Thrones kicks off stateside on HBO on April 6th, and the next day on UK shores courtesy of Sky Atlantic. The fourth and final teaser trailer is now out, but could the show end on the silver screen rather than on TV? Series creator George R.R. Martin hopes so.
"It all depends on how long the main series runs", he told the Hollywood Reporter. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for ten? The books get bigger and bigger [in scope]. It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know".
While there's expected to be at least another three series of the show yet to come, tying up the producers for five or so years, Martin suggests that the spin-off Tales of Dunk and Egg prequel novellas could be adapted for cinema screens first.
"They could be the basis for [a film]," said Martin. "I have written these three stories, and I have about a dozen more."
For now though, the excellent TV show will have to do. Get prepped for more bloodshed, web-like family trees and incestuous T&A with all the season four trailers, collected below and at the top of this post. [Hollywood Reporter]
