The 41MP Nokia 808 PureView was thought to be a line in the sand for the cameraphone. After years of incremental improvements, Nokia leapt ahead of the competition with a handset that was more camera than phone. Keen to make headway in the west, China's Oppo looks to outdo even the PureView, teasing a 50MP Find 7 phone.
The image posted by the company to Sina Weibo weighs in at 9.7MB, with a resolution of 8160 x 6120, and is suggested to have come from the company's new Find 7. It's certainly a detailed picture, seemingly taken during the recent MWC conference in Barcelona. But as Engadget points out, Oppo has a tendency to fabricate some of the details of its phones ahead of release -- such as the plug-in replaceable lenses for its N1 smartphone. We'll keep an eye on it, but this may prove to be a CMOS-sized fib. [Sina Weibo via Engadget]
