Samsung Claims "Breakthrough" in Magical Material Graphene Production

By Gary Cutlack on at

Samsung's trying to bag itself a lead in the commercialisation of graphene, claiming that itsĀ Advanced Institute of Technology has done something clever with synthesising large-area graphene into a single crystal on a semiconductor. Seriously!

Samsung says the "breakthrough synthesis method" is "one of the most significant breakthroughs in graphene research in history" and one that should speed the arrival of graphene inside consumer gear. Samsung's graphene plans will eventually involve "flexible displays, wearables and other next generation electronic devices," so... better phones. [Samsung via Engadget]
