The tech world is getting a bit predictable, isn't it? Stick an 'S' on the end every six months. Make a smaller model. Do it in pink after a while and make it cheaper for kids. So it won't astonish you to learn Sony's rumoured to have an Xperia Z2 Compact in the works.
The possible Z2 Compact rumour comes via a scan of a Japanese magazine, where a small-ish model known as the Xperia A2 is shown off. That regional name could well translate into a Z2 Compact, with the model featuring a modest 4.3-inch display. The only slight disappointment is that the A2 here appears to have a Snapdragon 800 chipset and 720p display, meaning it's on a par with last year's Z1 Compact in terms of power and screen resolution.
