Wind Power in CRISIS as David Cameron Plans Attack on "Unsightly" Onshore Turbines

By Gary Cutlack on at

The modern electric windmill industry might be about to suffer an enormous setback, thanks to rumours that our PM is about to go public with a dislike of "unsightly" wind farms and could fight the 2015 election on a promise to rid the country of the menace of the turbines altogether.

According to sources quoted by several newspapers today, David Cameron may even go so far as announcing a desire to "eradicate" existing wind farms from the UK mainland, pushing the wind industry entirely offshore.

The most subtle options are a cap on turbine numbers or a reduction in the subsidies offered to generators of windy power, with the latter perhaps the easiest way of gently convincing energy providers that their white turny things are no longer welcome within sight of wealthy people's country estate balconies.
