The number of billionaires in Britain has rocketed from 30 to 104 in the space of a decade, as overseas entrepreneurs flood the country thanks to our generous tax system, lovely old houses and selection posh schools for the fortunate kids of the super-rich.

According to the latest Sunday Times Rich List, the wealthiest people in Britain right now are brothers Sri and Gopi Hinduja, who have around £11.9billion to their names. The top home-grown billionaire is the Duke of Westminster, who sits at 10th position in the list atop a pile of hereditary gold worth approximately £8.5bn.

Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay are the only other British-born entrants in the top 20 richest people chart, a list dominated by those who've come over here to... be immensely successful. [Irish Times]
