Canalside Containerville is London's New Hipster Destination (Updated)

By Gerald Lynch on at

Containerville, a new pop-up shopping work and studio space on the bank of the Regents Canal in London, is set to be the new trendy haunt for adventurous hipsters when it opens in June.

Made up of thirty recycled shipping containers (hence the name), the Boxpark-like space sits between Broadway Market and Oval Space. Its creators are looking to attract “start-ups, creative businesses and designer-makers who want to work, sell, or make and trade.”

For those looking to rent space at Containerville, rates are set at £1,500 a month for ground floor retail spaces, and £1,250 for studios and offices. Think it might be your kind of thing? Test yourself against its promo poster below -- if walking a miniature pink elephant to "Freelancefields" doesn't turn your stomach, you're in. [Dalstonist, Estate Office]

Update: The team behind Containerville have been in touch to clarify the new site's purpose. It will no longer offer retail space as previously reported, so it's just trendy workspace and studio space up for grabs now instead.

People interested in getting involved with Containerville should contact The Estate Office Shoreditch on 020 7490 8100 or go to www.estateoffice.com/containerville as quickly as they can. The development will be to take tenants before the end of May.
