You might remember Bro App, the app that texts your girlfriend for you so that you can spend time with your friends. Well there's a new one. It's called MomApp, and it will text your parents automatically so that you don't have to put any effort into your relationship.
If you plan on using the app for a quick hello every now and again, then I can't see how this would go wrong. Then again, if it's just a quick hello surely it would take you more time to find and download the app than it would to send the text in the first place. If you're really forgetful then maybe I can see the appeal, but for lazy people there doesn't seem to be much point.
It's up to you whether you take advantage of technology to sort-of stay in touch with your parents, but you will have to explain why you suddenly started calling your mother "mom" like some sort of American. [The Telegraph]
