One of the key features of Google Glass is that you can record video from your own perspective without the hassle of fiddling with your phone. News network CNN wants to take advantage of that, and turn Glass users into its own network of citizen journalists.
The move is part of CNN's iReport scheme, which lets people submit their own stories to the network. By opting in, Glass users will be able to send photos and video to the CNN newsroom straight from their device. Some people have already started, with the first story submitted from Glass about petrol prices in Miami.
It's a useful thing for Glass users to get involved in, and could be hugely beneficial to the world of news and journalism. Maybe one day in the near future we'll see bystanders using Glass to send in footage of events that journalists would otherwise be unable to get to, like a riot or a natural disaster. [Engadget]
