Some sort of cut-sized HTC One M8 (or HTC One Mini 2, if you prefer) has been a near-certainty as soon as HTC lifted the covers off its flagship smartphone for the year. Now, a UK retailer listing making specific reference to the phone, acquired by Gizmodo UK, adds further credence to the rumours.
The image, from a phone retail employee who has asked to remain anonymous, lists two different colour variants of both a "HTC M8 Mini" and a "HTC One (m8) Mini". Grey and silver versions look set to launch, listed among the dummy handsets that make up a store's shopfront inventory.
Sadly, little else is revealed, with no mention of release date or pricing. But recent leaks from noted tipster @evleaks point to a device significantly smaller than its flagship namesake, and lacking the second Duo Camera depth sensor that impressed us in our full HTC One M8 review. The handset's also expected to land with a 720p display as opposed to the full-fat M8's 1080p one, while a processor downgrade from the regular M8's 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 is also expected.
