The full details of the partnership between smart thermostat makers Nest and energy provider nPower have been revealed. nPower is looking to lure customers to its new dual-fuel tariffs by offering a Nest installation as part of the package for just £99. That's £100 cheaper than British Gas's rival energy monitoring system, Hive. nPower's latest tariff keeps current energy costs fixed until April 30th, 2017, too.
Alternatively, those happy with their energy provider but looking to see what all this Internet of Things malarky is about can grab a standalone Nest for £179 from the company's website, or from retailers including John Lewis and Amazon. You'll have to be prepared to install the thing yourself however, or cough up £249 for a Nest AND an engineer visit.[nPower]
