Can't handle the luxury that is the metal-bodied beauty of the HTC One M8? No worries Magneto, HTC has you covered -- it has (possibly prematurely) lifted the covers off the HTC One M8 Ace, a plastic-bodied version of this year's flagship.
Revealed on the Chinese arm of the company's website, its internal specs bring it almost on par with the standard M8. It features a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, and, unlike the HTC One Mini 2, offers Motion Launch gestures. Like the Mini 2 however, it opts for a standard rear sensor (13MP) rather than the fancy Duo Camera of the M8. Screen size isn't listed, but it's rumoured to be a 5-inch, 1080p display.
So, will it make its way to the UK? HTC loves an international variant, and while it's been pretty good at bringing its portfolio over to our shores in the past, it may feel that this cheaper niche is already filled by the HTC One Mini 2. HTC sent us the following short statement:
We are excited to show you a sneak preview of what's to come. Stay tuned for more information at next week's launch!
So perhaps a UK launch won't be out of the question after all. Keep an eye out on June 3rd for more details, the day that HTC is expected to officially launch the device. [HTC]
