Being set upon by a dog is not something I ever want to experience, especially if the dog is bigger than I am. God knows what it must have been like for four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo when the neighbour's dog pulled him off his bike without provocation. Luckily, the family cat was on hand to save the day.
Within seconds, Tara the cat had flown at the dog and chased it away even before Jeremy's mother Erika realised what had happened. It just goes to show, cats aren't all the emotionless arseholes people make them out to be.
Jeremy did need stitches on his leg, but wasn't seriously hurt. The dog has been placed under observation, and according to local police is likely to be put down. [Evening Standard]
