Xbox One's External Hard Drive Support Finally Appears to be Ready

By Gerald Lynch on at

We've known pretty much since its launch that the Xbox One would eventually get external hard drive support, but for those whose console's meagre 500GB hard drive is already wheezing under the strain of multiple game installs, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

An anonymous Xbox developer posted the above image to Reddit, seemingly showing that external drive support is now working in the company's testing labs. With game installs alone often weighing in at the 50GB mark, and a DIY installation of a larger drive voiding warranties, this'll be as welcome an update as any Microsoft's latest console has received thus far.
