The 4oD app has been lagging behind its rivals that are run by the BBC and iTV, due to the fact that you could only stream programmes via Wi-Fi. Fortunately, those dark times are over with a new update that allows the Android 4oD app to stream content via 3G and 4G mobile networks.
Like the iOS version of this update that arrived two weeks ago, this update doesn't stop you from downloading programmes ready to watch later, but it does mean you have greater freedom in doing so.
There has been no word on whether this update will be reaching Windows Phone any time soon, but you can all live in hope. Considering the time between the iOS and Android updates, maybe it'll arrive in a fortnight. [Engadget via TechRadar]
