HTC has shied away from the Windows Phone fold recently, focussing its efforts on the One series handsets to critical -- if not financial -- acclaim. But it may soon be planning a return to the Windows Phone platform, following a tease from Nick Parker, Microsoft's vice president of OEM partners.
Speaking at Computex, Parker gave this response to a question about manufacturing partners:
I'd love to break some news here if I could. But instead I'll just say that Microsoft will continue to have a great relationship with HTC. New things are coming, so get excited.
It's not the first time we've heard word of fresh Windows Phone handsets from HTC recently. Rumour factory EvLeaks has described what it calls the HTC W8, expected to be an exclusive for the US Verizon Wireless network if released. It's rumoured to have the same BoomSound and Duo Camera specs that are found in the HTC One M8 currently. As the company's flagship, it would make sense for HTC to capitalise on its lauded design. Running a Windows Phone 8-like skin on your M8 may soon not be the only way to get a Live Tile interface on the hardware. [CNET via WP Central]
