Mac Notifications Centre is Getting a 'Today' View

By Gerald Lynch on at

Dragging in your Mac Notifications bar is going to get a bit more useful in the new Yosemite build of OS X. A new 'Today' view will give detailed calendar and appointment information, with a tab that lets you switch back to a standard notifications view.

Most useful however is the introduction of app and widget support within the Notifications bar. Weather, stocks, world clock and reminder widgets can all be dragged into the Notifications view, giving you quick access to the features with a swipe in from the trackpad, while apps will be able to present users with richer details in the Notifications view.
