Nothing can escape the gaze of the 3D printer's nozzle these days. Nike's latest luggage uses a combination of fine traditional leather and intricate 3D printing to carry its owner's kit.
Designed and manufactured especially for Brazil's 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Rebento Duffel is Nike Football's first 3D-printed sports bag. Taking design cues from the flyknit patterns found on the company's trainers, the laser-sintered nylon structure forms part of the bag, while premium leather forms the remainder.
There are, in fact, just three of the bags being put to use during the football tournament (designed especially for Neymar Jr., Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo) with each bag featuring custom gold hardware. So, fairly exclusive then. There's currently no word on much they cost, or whether they'll ever make it into full-scale production. [DesignBoom]
