The ever-reliable John Paczkowski is reporting that Apple's first ever wearable is slated to launch in October. There's supposed to be a special event just for the device, and the newly announced HealthKit platform and Health app will be prominently featured. And you can be sure people will be upset if this thing does not tell time.
Obviously, people expect an iWatch. We're now sitting on years worth of rumours about what the device will do, how it will look, and how it will change our lives in incredible ways. Then, last week's announcement of HealthKit—notably how the corresponding app is just begging to be filled with data from a wearable device—is just begging for a follow up. At this point, it feels like we've definitely hit a critical mass of iWatch reports. And if Apple needs to release an iWatch soon, if it's going to do it at all. [Recode]
