Nokia's making Android phones! Exciting! Or at least, it should have been -- when the Nokia X phone line was finally revealed at MWC 2014, it proved a bit of an anti-climax. The decision to target emerging markets with an entry-level phone was wise from a business perspective, but was yawn-inducing for anyone used to the high-end Lumia line.
Can a Nokia X2 reverse that feeling? It's looking unlikely, if BGR India's latest report proves true. It claims a Nokia X follow-up could be just weeks away, one that's merely an incremental upgrade over the original X. Meanwhile, AnTuTu is suggesting specs including a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 display, 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Running Android 4.3, a 5MP camera is slated to sit on the rear, with 4GB of built-in storage. It's unlikely to hit the UK anytime soon, and while few tears will be shed over a spec sheet like that, it'd still be fascinating to see what Nokia would come up with if let loose on a high-end Android device.
