Two Higgs Boson Pioneers Knighted

By Gary Cutlack on at

Two of the men involved in doing that complicated thing about the atoms and proving God exists have been awarded knighthoods, with professors Tom Kibble and Tejinder Virdee from Imperial College London getting their chance at being attacked with a sword by the Queen.

Virdee was one of the key men behind the creation of the sensing technology inside the LHC that popped out the boson, while Kibble has been instrumental in pushing for the particle's discovery to be made from the 1960s onwards. [Popular Science]
