In an effort to placate the black cab drivers that it has so royally pissed-off, cab booking app Uber has added a fourth tier to its service that allows black cab drivers to accept bookings sourced by the app too. Called UberTAXI, it'll be interesting to see if it does anything to relieve the tensions that have resulted in this afternoon's proposed protest.
Transport for London has already stated that Uber's system doesn't require regulating, but has called upon the High Court to make a final decision as to whether or not cabbies' fears are justified. For the time being, UberTAXI's fare rates will remain the same as its other tiered offerings, with commision capped at 5 per cent. [Uber]
