Is Apple Finally Embracing NFC for the iPhone 6?

By Tom Pritchard on at

We heard the other day that Apple might be working on its own digital wallet, and now pictures have emerged from nowhereelse.fr that suggest that the upcoming handset will also be the first iPhone to come with NFC communication built in.

Shouldn't that be a given? Unless the wallet is only for online transactions (a la PayPal) you really need something to be able to pay for things in the real world, and NFC is the most appropriate system to implement. That is unless Apple has a new system it wants to try and force onto the world.

The site also claims that the iPhone 6 will include an upgrade in the form of 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which would mean faster connection speeds, but there is no evidence to support this claim. [Nowhereelse.fr via TechRadar]
