I don't know which of these cakes that look like fast food I like better. The Big Mac, the bucket of KFC, the Subway sandwich... I just can't decide. My only option is to shake my head in disbelief and then proceed to stuff my mouth with all of them.
Pick a theme. Seriously any theme in the world—sports teams, cartoon characters, national parks—and you can find countless cake made in tribute on sites like Pinterest and Cake Central. In the age of the internet, the use of rolled fondant invented in the 16th century has totallygotten out of hand.
However, when an image of an immaculate Subway sandwich-shaped cake surfaced this week, I couldn't help but wonder how many other food items from fast food chains had earned their own doppelgängers. Turns out, all of them have. And they're pretty great!
Again, this Big Mac is uncanny. You can almost taste the Special Sauce. [Pinterest / Crystal Moon]
Kentucky Fried Chicken
While the cup and bucket construction could use a little work, I have never in my entire life seen cake that looks more like fried chicken. Of course, I haven't seen many attempts, either… [Cake Central / louiselovesbaking]
Holy shit, a Subway sandwich actually looks appetizing. Of course, that thinking might come from the fact that this is a cake and not a pile of stale bread, questionable meat, and half rotten vegetables. [Pinterest / Jake Gooding]
Despite being a decade old, this one looks pretty delicious as well. Somebody had a fun 30th birthday! (He is now 40.) [Cake Central / Polly Maggs]
My best guess is that they're going for a Pizza Hut pan pizza here, but really it could be any of America's many fast food pizza places. But really, this is Becca's pizza. Welcome to adulthood, Becca! [Pinterest / Mary Berelson]
Again, this could carry any number of brands. For me, however, it deserves a mention for being incredibly realistic and incredibly disgusting at the same time. [Pinterest / Amy Quinn]
What about desert? Well no fast food restaurant can compete with a classic Oreo cookie. And this giant Oreo cookie might just be the best thing in the world. [Cake Central / arielatl]
