Sony's big mobile hope for the second half of 2014 looks to be a physically big device too -- these latest leaked shots alleged to be of the Xperia Z3 show the handset holding its own in the size stakes next to one of Samsung's oversized Galaxy Note devices.
Next to the 5.7-inch Note, the Sony device looks considerably thinner, likely putting its diagonal screen size nearer the 5-inch mark. It'd be super sharp too, if the latest 1080p rumours surrounding the device prove true. Elsewhere, the Xperia Z3 is said to be packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, backed by 3GB of RAM. That's a 4K-capable chip, and with 4K a key part of Sony's AV line-up for the coming few years, expect to see Ultra HD recording supported by the Xperia Z3.
As you'd expect, there's no official word on the Xperia Z3 from Sony at present. But with the annual IFA tech show in Berlin set to kick off at the start of September, safe money would be on the Xperia Z3 making its official debut there. [Phone Arena]
