A former EastEnders star turned voice actor has been outed as the "Unexpected item in bagging area" lady, who's constantly reprimanding the nation by having her voice installed on over 10,000 supermarket tills.
Actress Helena Breck is the shock item superstar. Her telly career peaked when she played a character called Elizabeth Wilmott-Brown back in 1994, before she moved into voice acting for the likes of L'Oreal, Mazda and shopping till manufacturer NCR.
She was chosen as the living embodiment of the till for her "calming voice and an approachable manner," but now claims that being known as the voice of the self-checkout machine has "impinged" her career so she's trying to move on from being known as the robot till disciplinarian. [Telegraph]
