Amazon to Test Drone Deliveries in Lawless India

By Gary Cutlack on at

The lack of any specific laws regarding aerial drone flights in India may see Amazon test its miniature robot plane delivery service over there first, with sources claiming Mumbai and Bangalore could see drones dropping off purchases later this year.

According to Economic Times sources, Amazon will let Prime members in the two cities order stuff with an astonishing 30-minute delivery promise. The impulse-buying and robot delivery of items weighing no more than 2.2kg could launch this October, as long as Indian lawmakers don't introduce any anti-drone laws in the meantime. [ET via QZ]
