Samsung, Nokia, LG and the mobile industry in general must have breathed a collective sigh of relief this weekend as Evan "EvLeaks" Bass announced that he was to retire from posting pre-release leaked tech info and photos to the web.
Bass has spent the last two years making his Twitter account the go-to feed for accurate product leaks, but has decided to call it a day after struggling to monetise his efforts. You can hardly blame him: diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a decade ago, a steady wage isn't going to come from posting photos of mid-range Windows Phones. But hats off to Bass, who has broke more product stories than most of the tech press combined. We might all now have to pay attention at the "grand unveiling" press conferences of the future.
