Google has bought a new bunch of app-making hipsters, acquiring the Jetpac team, maker of "visual guide" tool Jetpac City Guides.
It's hard to see what Google's buying here. It's certainly not market share, as the company's three iOS apps have barely 50 user reviews between them. Perhaps it likes the idea of navigating cities by photograph alone, which is the core thinking behind the developer's city guide series?
The first job for Google might be to remove the boast "Find the bars where women go" from Jetpac's home page and App Store product description, as that sounds a bit threatening in this day and age. [Jetpac via Tech2]
