There's still an awful lot of work to be done before it's ready, but we now have our first glimpse at what the £750 million regeneration of Birmingham New Street Train Station will look like when the work concludes next September. It looks a bit like an airport terminal if I'm honest.

Apparently over 6,000 tonnes of concrete has been demolished to make way for the enormous glass roof which will cover an area roughly the same size as a football pitch, and overlook the station's 12 platforms. It's also expected that 140,000 passengers will travel through the new atrium every day, so don't expect it to be as quiet as it is in the concept art. [Express & Star]
