With the latest development kit version of the Oculus Rift now out in developers' homes, Oculus and owners Facebook have turned their attentions towards expanding the potential pool of developers for the virtual reality headset.
One obvious gap to fill was the lack of Mac OS X development tools, which has now been plugged by the new 0.4.1 version of the headset's SDK. Mac users will now be able to test and build applications for the Rift, though Macs still lack a display driver for the headset. Still, it will "always work in Extend Desktop mode" according to the release notes, so there's a suitable workaround in the meantime. [Oculus VR]
