There's an Xbox-Branded TV Tuner for Your Xbox One on the Way

By Gerald Lynch on at

It's been a long and difficult road getting the full raft of Xbox One TV features working in the UK. While Virgin Media, Sky and plenty of other set-top box brand owners can now navigate what's on TV with voice commands via the Kinect and integrated OneGuide EPG, it's still not possible if you're using the Freeview or Freesat tuners built into your TV.

If your Xbox One isn't playing nicely with your set up, there's now an Xbox-branded solution on the way. The Xbox One Digital TV Tuner will connect to the console over USB and through a coaxial socket to an aerial, providing DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C channels alongside compatibility with all the Xbox EPG and voice command controls. You'll be able to pick up the tuner from the end of October priced £24.99, just in time to shout "fuck off, X-Factor** " at your telly.

** This voice command is NOT supported by the Xbox One.
