If you've been playing the postcode lottery and live in one of these places, your numbers have just come up. The most desirable postcodes in the UK have just been revealed, with the sound of cash registers ringing in the ears of local estate agents.
Compiled by the Centre of Economic Business Research, and taking into account criteria including crime, health of residents and job prospects, the postcode of SP9 in Tidworth, Wiltshire has been highlighted as the most desirable place to live in England. South Glasgow's G44 was the most desirable spot in Scotland, while LL78, Brynteg, Anglesey was the most highly-rated postcode in Wales.
The village of Yateley (GU46) in Hampshire and the seaside town of St Bees in Cumbria (CA27) round out England's top three, while in Scotland Erskine (PA8) and Largs (KA30) take bronze and silver respectively. Wales has Llantwit Major (CF61) and Llanidloes (SY18) as its second and third most desirable postcodes.
The study was commissioned to mark the 40th anniversary of postcode allocations to every address in Britain. Renting residents of Tidworth, expect your rates to be considerably higher next year.
