Amazon Goes Google and Glassy for New East London HQ

Concept images of Amazon's future new Shoreditch HQ have been released, showing it'll be going down the usual glass/gardens/sports route as you might expect of a minted US internet business.

The proposed Principal Place building has a rooftop garden, much like Google's addition of open air gardening spaces atop its Covent Garden HQ, augmented by tennis courts and basketball facilities for visiting US dignitaries, with a general high-ceilinged and girdered approach internally. Here are a few concept renders:

Up to 5,000 Amazon employees will be joyously scootering about between its various colourful snugs some time in 2017, when work will be complete. [Principal Place via Engadget]
