Edinburgh Airport is Testing Google Glass

By Gerald Lynch on at

Though Virgin Atlantic has already briefly trialled Google Glass with its customer service reps at Heathrow, Edinburgh Airport has today announced that it will be the first airport to give the AR headsets a test site-wide, and not just limited to a single airline.

The headsets will let airport staff check flight times for late, panicked passengers, and use augmented reality apps to translate travel information thrust under their noses by tourists from around the globe without being tethered to a customer service desk. All they'll need now is an app to tell them to jump out of the way when one of those golf carts for ferrying elderly passengers around whizzes past. [Engadget]
