EE Joins Vodafone in Phones 4U Carcass Feast

More jobs and traditional retail outlets have hopefully been saved following the Phones 4U crash, with mobile network EE joining Vodafone in buying a chunk of the collapsed phone chain's assets.

EE has comes to an agreement with administrators to buy 58 Phones 4U branches, saving 359 employees from being dumped on the scrapheap. That still leaves a few thousand jobs at risk, so here's hoping Giffgaff or Lebara Mobile come up with some cash to buy the leftovers. [Independent]
