LG Exec Questioned Over Bizarre Samsung Washing Machine Vandalism

One unnamed LG executive is said to have gone on a cathartic rampage in Berlin last week, allegedly vandalising the doors of four Samsung-made washing machines in a local shopping centre.

Staff called police after spotting the man apparently deliberately breaking the doors of four Samsung Crystal Blue washing machines, with CCTV footage showing him leaning on the door hinges until they bent and couldn't be closed properly. The exec and other LG staff were let off the hook after they agreed to buy the bent washing machines in question.

LG said the man was "only checking Samsung's washing machines" ahead of the announcement of new models at IFA, claiming this sort of public hands-on test is routine. [Korea Herald]
