PM Pushes for Real-Time Sharing of Flight Passenger Data With Security Agencies

Part of David Cameron's latest crackdown on the many non-specific threats of terrorism is said to include new rules on the sharing of flight data, perhaps going so far as to allow security services live access to complete air passenger details right across the EU.

Moves to lessen rules covering "information sharing" of travellers within the EU were presented to EU leaders by David Cameron over the weekend, suggesting they drop their opposition to the idea in the name of better monitoring suspected troublemakers.

A second prong of proposed new legislation could aim to stop those described as being jihadis from entering the country, possibly going so far as to ban British-born suspected jihadis from returning from overseas. [Guardian]
