Queen Needs People to Help Congratulate the Elderly

By Gary Cutlack on at

The ageing population means the Queen's finding it a bit hard to keep on top of all the 100th birthday telegrams, so the department that congratulates old folk is hiring assistants to send well done cards to new centenarians.

The Department for Work and Pensions apparently has a team of seven people devoted solely to working on behalf of congratulating people from Her Majesty, with the Centenarian team struggling to keep up with the 14,000 people in the UK currently enjoying and enduring life over the age of 100.
