Sony's compacted versions of its Xperia Z flagship phones have always impressed, and with the Xperia Z3 a dead-cert to be unveiled at IFA later this week, it looks as though we may be getting a miniature version to go along with the full-size smartphone right off the bat.
Ausdroid has got its hands on some legit-looking press shots of the handset, shown off in an array of colours -- orange, white, black and green. There's been no spec sheet leak to go along with what appears to be official photos, but Ausdroid's sources point to a 4.6-inch display for the handset, running at a 720p resolution and powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, clocked at 2.5GHz. A nano-SIM replaces the Micro SIM of the previous shrunken flagship, with a 2,600mAh battery and 20.7MP camera around the back.
If previous "Compact" handsets from Sony are anything to go by, the internals listed here should give a good indication of what to expect from the full-fat Xperia Z3 too, seeing as Sony sensibly chooses not to hamstring its smaller phones. [Ausdroid]
