The star of Sony's IFA 2014 showing, the Xperia Z3 is another slimline waterproofed smartphone stunner. With PS4 Remote Play gaming functions and a two-day battery life, it's a worthy successor to the Z2. Though it's looking like only six months will separate the instore dates of the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 (Sony have yet to reveal a precise retail date), plenty of networks and stores are already putting together Xperia Z3 deals. And, with the Xperia Z3 Compact launching alongside the full-fat version, those looking to pick up a Sony handset before Christmas will have plenty of choices to make.
We'll be updating this post as the networks finalise their deals. But for now, here's an overview of who's selling what, where.
Of all the phone retailers, Phones 4u have been the most loose-lipped when it comes to its Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact deals, revealing that both will be available from its stores before the end of September. It's even gone as far as sharing some of its contract prices too -- the Xperia Z3 in white will be available on Vodafone 4G contracts from £38.50 a month, while the Compact will go up for £30.50 a month. Both can be pre-ordered now.
EE was first out of the blocks, confirming that its 4G network would be stocking the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. But they've shared little else other than that both will be available on the network's 4GEE and 4GEE Extra Plans. Already up for pre-order, EE's deal will bag buyers 2-for-1 cinema tickets with EE Wednesdays, inclusive roaming calls and texts at certain international locations and inclusive unlimited 080 numbers.
Three has also confirmed that it will be selling both the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. But, just like EE, it's yet to reveal exactly when it will land on the network, how much it will cost, and what contract deals it will be offered with. It's worth remembering though that Three's network benefits are among the best, giving you "Feel at Home" international roaming on the same terms as your UK contract in 16 international destinations, and free, unlimited and inclusive 4G data where available.
Want the Xperia Z3 on O2? To be "Kept in the Loop" on what the network is offering, click here, where you'll be met with a form allowing you to sign up for updates on O2's Xperia deals. Selling the full-sized Xperia Z3 in mint silver and black shades, there's no sign yet of the Compact being available through O2.
Seeing a pattern here? While Vodafone has announced that it will be stocking the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact too, it's yet to share details on its contract deals. However, if Phones 4u's prices are accurate, expect the Xperia Z3 on Vodafone 4G contracts from £38.50 a month, with the Compact on £30.50 per month deals.
Still lacking pricing and availability, Carphone Warehouse, like O2, will let you register your interest in the Xperia devices ahead of release.
If you're after an Xperia Z3 off-contract, SIM-free, Amazon is looking like your best bet so far. Revealing it will be shipping the phones from September 29th, it's offering up the handset in black and copper shades for £529.95. The Z3 Compact, on the other hand, will be offered up in black and orange shades, priced at £429.95 down from an RRP of £499.99.
SIM-free, Expansys seems to be the cheapest place so far to get the Xperia Z3 Compact, putting the phone up for pre-order at £419.99. It's also got the full-sized Xperia Z3 in a whole range of colours for £529.99, making it marginally more expensive than with Amazon.
